This is one the best action movies I have seen. Most important is that, the story is very innovative and special effects are awesome.

Special effects were innovative, but brutal dialog and acting drags this down. Has not aged well.

This movie was revolutionary when it first came out. It is no coincidence that soon after it's release, tons of films started parodying or copying it's various groundbreaking techniques. Not only are the action scenes top notch, but the philosophical questions explored in the film are extremely interesting. It is an exciting and visually stimulating action movie, with substance, and that is hard to come by.
