I just saw this a couple weeks ago; I had forgotten how good it was. The feel and environment was way ahead of its time, and Ellen Ripley is one of the great action movie characters ever.

One minus: Bill Paxton is a dismal, dismal actor who has only been good in Big Love and has detracted from just about anything else he's ever been in.
